Alaettin Aksoy / 1942 Trabzon
Alaettin Aksoy graduated from İstanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1968. Between 1972 and 1976 he performed works in Paris, reinforcing his art education. He worked as a lecturer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University from 1977 until his retirement in 2005. He still continues his work in İstanbul.
Aksoy produces fictional compositions mainly based on visual fantasy. In his works, it is possible to see that the behaviours and perceptions, which seem “absurd”, assume a partial meaning and depth in daily life when depicted through selected images and icons. The events integrated with humour and exhibited in a fantastic space and particularly the emphasized analysis attracting attention in the characters of the figures form the basis of the striking imagery here.
